2004 KME 54ft. Squrt Engine $170,000 "#Squirt69"
Hours: 3760
Miles: 31,000
Motor: Cummins ISM 450hp
Pump: 1500gpm Waterous
Water: 500 poly tank
Foam: N/A
Generator: 10kw Smart Power hydraulic
Body construction: 304L Stainless Steel (reported to have no rust or corrosion)
Wheelbase: 197"

Ladders: 24/14/10 (may be possible to mount 35ft. ladder in place of 24ft.)
Misc.: 1000gpm, 54ft. articulating water tower. Holds 1500ft. of 5". In-cab EMS compartment.
Notes: Currently the front line engine at North End Fire Company, Pottstown, Pennsylvannia. The FD is career staffed 24/7. Squrt is used 6-7 times per year on fires. Annual squrt maintenance is replacing a hydraulic fluid filter every year. Hydraulic fluid should be changed every 5-7 years. Two outriggers extend about 18" away from body. The Squrt is currently available and in production for new apparatus.
Mattoon FD, Illinois has a 2001 squrt equipped engine. A driver of Engine 21 says that the Squrt is simple and prefers it to their tele-squrt. With the squrt he says you can put water anywhere using the articulating boom. He cannot recall any major problems with it. They also do not perform any 3rd party annual testing of the device since it is not rated for personnel. Engine 21 is in front line service and is also the first out mutual aid engine due to the versatility of the squrt.
Link to Command Fire Apparatus listing (Dealer truck: includes "A full change of ALL filters and fluids, Current Pump or Aerial Certification, New Federal DOT Safety Inspection, A check of all mechanical systems, Removal of all existing lettering and insignias, Lettering the cab to YOUR specifications") May be possible to vinyl wrap or stripe instead of paint for significant savings.

2007 E-One Typhoon Engine $239,500 "Martha's Vineyard Truck"
Hours: 1118
Miles: 15,354
Motor: Cummins ISL 400hp (2007 EPA engine equipped with DPF diesel particulate filter)
Pump: 1500gpm Hale with 200cfm Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS)
Water: 750 poly tank
Foam: 20g
Generator: Onan 10kw PTO hydraulic
Body construction: Aluminum
Wheelbase: 201"
Length: 31'1"
Ladders: 24/14/10
Misc.:
Notes: Not yet listed online. From Edgartown, MA Volunteer FD near Martha's Vineyard. Online search revealed that truck was sold due to it being plagued with mechanical problems. Conversation with Deputy Chief reveals that the truck was specified by an outgoing chief with little input from rest of department. It is too big for their venue (they have a small KME engine now). He also said that the CAF system was the problem. As a volunteer FD, they did not run, maintain, and check it enough and it became problematic. If the truck had been smaller they would have removed the CAF system and kept it. The rest of the truck is no problem. Recommend that if we pursued this, we stipulate to the dealer that the CAF system is removed, the pump is re-tested, and we offer a much lower price.

Continue to look for a pre-owned apparatus "Hold what we got"
We can make do with both KME pumpers while 1412 is gone and find a truck to borrow (please provide where to find this truck) if one breaks down. Continue to look for other pre-owned options.
Buy a new apparatus "Only new will do"
Continue to run our current pumpers and save until we can afford a new pumper. $400,000 is a ball park starting price for a custom pumper. Please provide a detailed plan for a backup engine while 1412 is gone.
Section 2: Extrication equipment options (select one)
Option 1: We need new extrication equipment, include a new set with this purchase. Approximately $30,000. Possible offset by sale of old equipment.
Option 2: Put more money into the truck, continue to seek grants and other funding for extrication equipment. AFG grant was denied. Put Resqtec portable equipment on new truck.
Option 2: Put more money into the truck, continue to seek grants and other funding for extrication equipment. AFG grant was denied. Put Resqtec portable equipment on new truck.
Section 3: Single station EMS response options when only 2 personnel on duty (select one). We cannot continue to run pumpers on single station EMS responses.
Option 1: Minimal cost, under $500
Run current rescues 1450, 1452. Both units are never out at once. When one unit is out, district is covered by other stations staffed pumper, auto and mutual aid. You could possibly add air paks to 1450, larger ABC extinguishers, "fire grenades", etc.
Option 2: Approximately $20,000
Add a UHP skid unit to 1452 (if possible). Run 1452 and extract remaining life out of truck. When 1452 is done, consider mounting the UHP skid on 1471 or 1472 and modify for multipurpose use at additional cost.
Option 3: Approximately $20,000
Sell 1452. Sell skid, compartments, and booster reels on 1472. Buy and mount UHP skid. Fabricate custom, heavy duty roll up door compartments for flatbed. Run 1472 as multipurpose EMS, brush, initial attack. Cost depends on sale price of 1452 and 1472 components. Reduces vehicle fleet and associated maintenance costs. Eliminates oldest vehicle in fleet. Increases use of underutilized apparatus.
Option 4: Approximately $40,000 - $80,000
Convert both brush trucks to UHP with custom compartments for multipurpose use. Cost depends on sale price of 1471 and 1472 components. Most likely able to sell 1452 and/or 1450. Reduces vehicle fleet.
Option 5: Approximately $50,000
Purchase one EMS only SUV or pickup truck and sell 1452. Fire suppression capability not needed, opposite station, auto and mutual aid will cover. Reduces vehicle fleet and eliminates oldest vehicle in fleet.
Option 6: Approximately $120,000
Purchase new build UHP multipurpose rescue vehicle similar to WRFD. Cost offset if we sell 1471 or 1472. Limited funds left for purchase of pumper.
Option 7: Approximately $175,000 or higher
Purchase custom body light rescue UHP truck. Cost offset if we sell 1471 or 1472. Almost no funds left for purchase of pumper.
Option 8: Fill in the blank. Be detailed.
