Greetings Everyone! Welcome to the "Chief's Page" of the Godfrey Fire Protection District's web site. I would like to take this opportunity to keep you all posted on some of the district's activities and accomplishments.
In 2016, we were the first organization in the State of Illinois and the St. Louis Area to launch the ResQCPR System (link). According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the ResQCPR System is the first and only CPR device indicated to improve the likelihood of survival in adults who have experienced non-traumatic sudden cardiac arrest. This is an excellent tool in our arsenal, but we can improve survival from cardiac arrest even more with your help. Please visit our hands-only CPR page (link) to learn how you can be the first link in the cardiac arrest chain of survival and help save a life!
Smoke alarms save lives! We recently partnered with the Red Cross and launched a smoke alarm installation initiative. If you are a Godfrey resident and are over the age of 65 or disabled you qualify for this program. Call 466-0131 x1 to setup an appointment and Godfrey Firefighters will install up to three, 10 year-life smoke alarms in your home. Please take advantage of this program if you are in need. It might just save your life!
At GFPD, we have been working hard for the citizens we serve. In the past couple years, we have been challenged by our fiscal picture to do more with less. This is a familiar phrase, but it occurs here on a daily basis. I invite anyone to visit me and see this in person.
