Welcome to the Godfrey Fire Protection District Website. We hope that you find the site informative and enjoyable. GFPD is an ISO rated 4/9 combination department employing 18 full time and 18 paid on call staff. The district proudly protects 36 square miles and 17,000 people. We operate out of two stations and have a variety of apparatus to provide first class fire protection and emergency medical services. The Godfrey Fire Protection District has added one additional position to the career staff bringing the total to 18. Probationary Firefighter Jake Ringering comes to us from East Alton Fire Department where he was a career firefighter for almost 5 years. The trustees and staff of GFPD wish him the best of luck with a long and successful career. This additional career position has allowed the creation of a swing shift. The swing firefighter will be able to fill in on other shifts to cover vacations, medical leave, and other events that reduce daily staffing. |

Grant from Illinois American Water |

GFPD was recently presented a $1500 check from Mike Lawhon, District Manager of Illinois American Water Company. The Water Company offers annual grants to local fire departments to assist with the purchase of basic fire fighting equipment. The grant was awarded for the purchase of two new TFT Dual Force nozzles for our front-line pumpers. Thank you Illinois American Water Company! |
