GFPD was recently presented a $1500 check from Mike Lawhon, District Manager of Illinois American Water Company. The Water Company offers annual grants to local fire departments to assist with the purchase of basic fire fighting equipment. The grant was awarded for the purchase of two new TFT Dual Force nozzles for our front-line pumpers. Thank you Illinois American Water Company!  |

GFPD is an ISO rated 4/9 combination department employing 17 full time and 18 paid on call staff. The district proudly protects 36 square miles and 17,000 people. We operate out of two stations and have a variety of apparatus to provide first class fire protection and emergency medical services.
